JM DanceFit at The Axe Valley Intervention Programme
Location: Beer Primary School, Seaton Primary School, Axminster Community College
Date of event: Tuesday 20th & 27th January 2015
JM DanceFit was thrilled to have been invited to participate in the 2015 Axe Valley Intervention Programme, in order to provide Zumba/Street Dance sessions for a number of children in Primary Schools in the Axe Valley area. This programme provides those children, who do not usually have the opportunity, to experience and enjoy fitness and exercise with dance and music in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Children from Beer, Colyton, Seaton, Kilmington, All Saints, St Marys and Axminster Primary Schools enjoyed working together choreographing and performing Zumba/Street Dance moves during their Intervention Programme sessions.
Organiser Hannah Hoxley, AVLC Sports Partnership Co-ordinator from Axe Valley Community College, reported that the feedback received from the schools involved was excellent.
Teacher feedback included: 'The children thoroughly enjoyed the Zumba/Street Dance. They danced for the whole session and didn’t want the sessions to end!' 'There was lots of energy and smiles'. 'Overall everyone had a great time and made lots of new friends!'
Pupil feedback included: “I liked the Zumba/Street Dance because I liked the names we came up with in our groups and all of the cool moves we did.”
